Hello to friends and family,
I’m donating my birthday to the American Red Cross!
I started donating blood almost a year ago, out of a renewed sense of determination to close out the decade by experiencing the unfamiliar, or confront what scares me a little (needles, approaching 30, etc).
To honor that commitment now that 30’s here, I’m hosting a SleevesUp virtual blood drive and asking friends and family to pledge to give blood in the next 60 days. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, blood needs are critical—
—especially plasma, if you have antibodies—
and I hope you’ll consider making a donation if you are safely able to do so.
If you don’t know if you have antibodies, you’ll find out 7-10 days after donating; the Red Cross is testing all incoming blood donations.
To get started, make your pledge by clicking the red button above, and then visit redcrossblood.org to schedule your donation appointment. You can give at a locally hosted blood drive or at a permanent Red Cross blood donation center.
Everyone— Thanks for being a part of my life, and helping celebrate my birthday by helping save patient lives.
I’m so excited to do this with you! Be sure to use this page in order to track our progress together.
Cheers,
Annie
P.S. Wear a mask when you donate! I’ve already donated in a mask this summer, and will do so again to kick this drive off. It’s fiii~iiiiine!
