Let’s keep our tradition of blood donation strong!
Even in these uncertain times, we remain committed to our communities. While our on-site blood drives are suspended, we encourage those who are healthy and eligible to give at a community drive to help restore a stable blood supply in our country.
Through our company’s Blood Donation Program, Nationwiders have been saving lives since 1944. Our dedication to life-saving blood donation includes sponsoring nearly 150 blood drives every year at nearly two dozen Nationwide locations across the country, opening the first American Red Cross corporate on-site donor center in our Columbus, Ohio headquarters and funding 10 blood mobiles through the Nationwide Foundation. But what really sets us apart is the commitment from our associates who donate more than 14,000 units annually — potentially saving more than 42,000 lives.
To ensure you receive time off for your donation, print the blood donation form off and take it with you to your appointment so a blood donation center representative can verify your donation. If you’re unable to print this form at home, your manager may accept an email from you that documents the date, time and location of your successful donation. This will suffice as the necessary documentation for awarding time off. Supervisors should save this email as part of their records, just as they would the normal verification form.
