Our 5-year-old daughter, Clarke O’Neill, is fighting cancer every day. The life-saving medicine she is treated with is hard on her body and her blood counts are frequently low. She needs a blood transfusion about once every week and a half to stay strong and continue her fight. These transfusions will continue at this pace until at least summer of 2022.

Did you know, one blood donation can help save up to three lives? That truly means a lot to Clarke, to us, and other patients in need.

Generous blood donors are saving Clarke’s life and giving her the energy to just be a kid. How can we ever repay them? Help me reach my goal to give back at least as much blood as Clarke needs and beyond! Ensure that all patients receive the life-saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross or your local blood bank.

I’ve learned that the pandemic is taking a toll on the number of blood donations received. Donations are currently critically low, especially platelets in the Columbia, MO where Clarke lives. If you are hesitant for any reason and have questions, please call the American Red Cross and get answers.
