During the COVID pandemic, many people were under stay-at-home orders causing blood supplies to run low. Not only do these blood donations help patients who need it, but it also helps medical researchers understand things like coronavirus antibodies. When you donate blood to the Red Cross you also consent to allow blood samples to be used in research studies. The Red Cross collects 40% of the nation’s blood supply, allowing them to get a very clear picture of infection levels and antibody levels. They are partnering with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to check the percentage of the population with novel coronavirus antibodies to track the spread of it in our communities and, hopefully, in developing a vaccine. Your next contribution will save lives and help with their research. We’ve got aliveness in our veins. Let’s make a real difference!
We’re shooting for 100 pledges to donate blood. That’s 10% of our employees and at least one friend or family member each. Take the pledge and schedule your donation today. When we come alive, the world comes along.
Our first ever “Aliveness In Our Veins” campaign will run the week of August 17th, 2020. We’re dubbing that week Aliveness Week as we celebrate the five-year anniversary of our purpose launch to Wake the World.
