Research Administrators work hard every day to help support the incredible research being conducted across the country and globe and to ensure that research is being conducted safely and ethically. Now we hope that this amazing community will come together to help ensure blood banks have enough donations for all the patients requiring transfusions each and every day. With the current COVID-19 crisis, many blood banks are in urgent need. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. NCURA, the National Council of University Research Administrators, wants to help. Please help by scheduling a blood donation at a center near you.
Please be sure to review any local guidance regarding donations, including mask requirements and donor eligibility criteria.
You may also be able to receive a COVID-19 antibody test as part of your donation. See more here: https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/covid-19-antibody-testing.html
