Donate for Kyra

Kyra has Stage 2A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She was officially diagnosed in early March (her senior year), kind of out of the blue. She really had no symptoms at all (felt great) and then one day coughed up blood while she was working out. She will have 4 rounds of chemo (3 days in a row each time, inpatient) over 3 months.

Kyra will need blood transfusions throughout her treatment for her anemia and thrombocytopenia. This will not only help her to feel better and function well, but it ensures that she can safely get through these 3 very difficult months of cancer treatment. If you are healthy and able, please consider donating some blood. It is one way to support her journey.

Kyra’s treatment is complicated by the global pandemic taking place. She will be immunocompromised and will have to take extra measures to keep her viral risk exposure low. More importantly, this pandemic has resulted in a critical shortage of blood for Kyra and all the other people out there who rely on transfusions for their health and in some cases, the ability to live.

Thank you!
