While the COVID-19 pandemic is still evolving, it has already had devastating impacts on many of our communities. The American Red Cross is responsible for providing more than 40% of the nation’s blood supply, and COVID-19 is significantly impacting blood collection efforts. So, one of the most important things we all can do to ensure we don’t have another health care crisis on top of the Coronavirus outbreak is to give blood. The need for blood is constant, and will continue even as the outbreak grows. Volunteer donors are needed right now as they are the only source of blood for those in need.
