Blood Banks across the country are being adversely effected by the current Covid-19 epidemic and supplies of blood products are reaching critical levels.
It is still safe to donate blood as long as you follow the guidelines posted by the American Red Cross. Don’t donate if you feel ill. Don’t donate if you have had contact with someone ill with Covid-19. The Red Cross is testing everyone at the door of the blood drive for a fever and testing staff at the beginning of their shift.
Please wash your hands before entering the blood drive, don’t touch your face, use the provided hand sanitizer before eating your snack, and wash your hands again after you leave.
Blood donation centers are excellent places to donate currently. The American Red Cross greatly appreciates any help that they can get in this trying time so that they may continue their mission of providing safe blood products to the public.
