Dear alumni,
This winter, I’m facing a lifelong fear and committing to donate blood for the first time. Why? The American Red Cross has declared a severe blood shortage after the national blood supply dropped by 35% in the past month (as of January 20, 2026). Canceled blood drives and a severe flu season have made the shortage worse. Some facilities have already run critically low or dry.
Patients across the United States urgently need your help. Whether this is your first time thinking about donating or you have years of experience, I hope you’ll join me in stepping up during this critical moment.
Our communities depend on generous people like you. Make your pledge and schedule your donation appointment today to help ensure lifesaving care remains available for patients in need. Thank you in advance for making a difference.
Go Hawks,
