CNJ Hearts For Sickle Cell

0 /50

This campaign is important to Central New Jersey Jack and Jill of America, Inc. because it directly addresses a life-saving gap that disproportionately impacts minority communities, particularly individuals living with sickle cell disease. People with sickle cell often require frequent blood transfusions, and the most compatible blood comes from donors who share similar racial and ethnic backgrounds. Yet African American and other minority donors remain significantly underrepresented in the blood donor pool, creating real and ongoing risks for patients who depend on closely matched blood to survive and thrive.

Supporting this campaign is about more than donating blood—it is about education, trust, and showing up for our community with intention. By increasing minority participation in blood donation, we help ensure safer transfusions, reduce complications, and save lives. Incentivizing this effort encourages action, builds momentum, and empowers individuals to see how their participation has a direct, measurable impact. This campaign represents service in action, leadership in motion, and a commitment to equity in healthcare outcomes for generations to come.
