September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is an inherited blood disorder that affects red blood cells. People with this disease have abnormal, sickle-shaped red blood cells that have difficulty passing through small blood vessels and reduce blood flow.

Did you know that blood transfusions are one of the most critical treatments for sickle cell patients, but less than 10% of Americans donate blood?

Help make a difference for SCD patients by pledging to donate blood this month.

Use the hashtag #SleevesUpSSOE to share your donation journey on social media today!
