I have been donating blood with the American Red Cross as frequently as they’ll let me for the last year and a half (ish). I had donated a few times before, but it became especially important to me to give as much as I could last year while Matt was undergoing chemo treatments. While he was lucky in that he never required a blood transfusion, he came close, and his treatment was delayed a couple of times because his blood count was so low. No one should have to forego treatment, nor watch a loved one be denied treatment, because of a lack of a resource we all have to give.
