Throughout that night we received an outpouring of support from numerous blood banks, including the American Red Cross. We received units of blood from seven different blood banks. LifeFlight of Maine flew blood up from Massachusetts General Hospital for our trauma victims. The American Red Cross coordinated with Maine Medical Center to supply us with all the blood we needed and promised to backfill from their national supply.
