A few years ago, I started giving blood on Easter Sunday. I felt a power in the awareness of my own apprehension for the pain / discomfort of the needle, my own sacrifice of time, in order for somebody to receive my life-saving blood and how – really – the needle / the time are nothing compared the suffering involved in the passion. It has taken me a few years to get back to it, but the experience of giving blood during Easter season (either as a Christian to reflect on the pain / sacrifice of the Christ or as a yogi, practicing Karma Yoga) is a potent experience. Rich with meaning and opportunity to give, be present and then let go – trusting the fruit of the practice to be as meaningful as it will be.
The first 25 pledges will receive a gift certificate to OM Old Orchard for Restorative Yoga & Reiki.
