Join us this MLK Day as we come together in service. Let’s honor Dr. King’s legacy by participating in one or more service projects on your own, with your family and friends, or by joining the K&S blood drive in support of the American Red Cross! MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.
The American Red Cross has recently declared an emergency shortage, with blood supplies hitting their lowest levels in 20 years. Blood products are being used faster than they are being replenished. The American Red Cross is the supplier of approximately 40% of the nation’s blood, and they need our help. Please pledge your support as soon as possible and find a drive in your neighborhood between 1/15 and 1/31.
We work together every day to do important work. But today, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive lifesaving blood.
So SleevesUp and help us reach our goal. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross. Please reach out to Jannquell Peters at [email protected] with questions.
