Today is the five-year anniversary of my blood transfusion! In the past on this day I have written about what it was like to be that sick and the nearly 16 million patients like me who will need blood donations every year. But this year I wanted to do something special to celebrate!
I’m hosting a virtual blood drive, and for every person who pledges to donate, I will match your donation with a $5 donation to the Red Cross to support their work to ensure that blood is available and as safe as possible, wherever and whenever it’s needed.
