In March, 2020, I started giving blood routinely, though it’s always a crap shoot as to whether I have enough iron. I hate shots and am afraid of needles, but it seemed like something useful I could do in the face of the pandemic. Finally, a way to be sure that I can help save lives. I’m so glad that the American Red Cross is now more inclusive, accepting gay men as blood donors and I encourage all of my friends and family to keep, or start, donating blood. Thanks.
