In keeping with an annual U.S. Presidential tradition, President Joseph Biden proclaimed March 2023 as Red Cross Month in recognition of the American Red Cross’ importance to our country. This is because, historically, Americans have always stepped up for each other in moments of crisis. This spirit is woven into the fabric of our Nation, and for more than 140 years it has been exemplified by Red Cross employees, volunteers and generous supporters.
As part of Team McKesson, we work together every day to “advance health outcomes for all.” You can take this a step farther and accomplish something even more meaningful. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life-saving blood.
In honor of Red Cross Month, make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross. And don’t forget, each blood donation gets you 50 Vitality points (up to 12 times per year).
