Blood donations help patients of all ages, every day. Blood is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. In fact, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations each day to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need.
