In recognition of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, BPACS Phoenix Chapter is launching a virtual blood drive
Why – Every year over 300,000 children are born with Sickle Cell Disease. Most of those impacted are of African descent.
When – As Soon As Possible, As Often As You Can. There are unique proteins found in the blood of African descendants. This factor creates risk for children receiving blood from other ethnic groups and leads to potentially dangerous side effects.
How – Please contact the American Red Cross or your local hospital for more information.
