We work together every day to do important work. But today, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. CGI’s Black Member Alliance (BMA) is sponsoring both virtual and onsite blood drives in the month of September-October in support of Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Our goal is to raise awareness of this disease and increase blood donors for the American Red Cross. Sickle Cell is the most common genetic blood disease in the U.S and it primarily impacts African Americans. Patients with the disease may rely on regular blood transfusions throughout their lives. Pictured in this year’s campaign are Marquita and Khaleah Hargrove. Marquita is a sickle cell survivor and the daughter of CGI Member Renee Jones of Texas BU . We want to ensure that patients like Marquita and others who suffer from life threatening diseases such as Leukemia, Hemophilia and other blood disorders, have the supply needed to receive life saving blood.
Make your pledge to this campaign and help us reach our goal of 100 blood donations. Please make and keep an appointment to give blood at an American Red Cross blood drive near you.
