The need for blood is constant. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. requires this lifesaving gift—a mother giving birth, a child with sickle cell disease, a neighbor receiving treatment for cancer, a heart transplant patient and so many others. For more than 75 years, the American Red Cross has been answering the call. Today, they serve as the nation’s largest single supplier, providing 40% of U.S. blood. The availability of a safe and reliable supply of blood and blood products can be a matter of life and death. This journey—from donor to recipient—is only as good as their equipment. Investments in Red Cross capital are critical to every step of this process and their unmatched capacity to help people in need, now and for decades to come.

The Power Red Machine allows the Red Cross Biomedical Services program to be more efficient and empowers our generous blood donors to maximize their life saving gift of blood in a single visit. Power Red Machines allow donors to make a ‘Power Red’ donation which is similar to a whole blood donation, except this special machine allows a donor to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation by separating and returning plasma and platelets back to the donor

KCF Technologies is taking part in the Power Red Challenge and has already made a difference in our community by helping to fund two new Power Red machines.

Now, it is your chance to get involved. As employees of KCF, we invite you participate in the Power Red Challenge by pledging to donate blood. If you are unable to donate blood, you will also have the opportunity to make a monetary donation to the American Red Cross as well as take part in unique training and development events offered over the next few weeks.
