Twenty three years ago on January 29th, my newborn daughter Mary was in critical condition and not expected to live. But because of the kindness of strangers – and the blood they donated – the doctors saved Mary’s life.
I know first-hand that blood donations save lives. They saved Mary’s life 23 years ago and they are saving lives right now, even as you read this. Every day, blood donors help people of all ages: accident and burn victims, surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs a blood donation.
Because of the pandemic, our nation’s blood supply is at a critical 10-year low. Somewhere, a newborn and her mother may desperately need a blood donation just to live. In honor of Mary, let’s make sure that life-saving blood is there when they need it.
Can you help me raise 23 blood donations in honor of Mary’s 23rd birthday? We can make a difference and save a life – just like Mary’s life was saved 23 years ago. Be one of Mary’s angels and donate blood to her campaign.
Thank you!
Barb and Mary
