One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning recently.
On February 4, 2016 I gave birth to a BEAUTIFUL 8 lbs. 7 oz. baby girl, Annistyn. The cesarean section went off without a hitch! Dr. Lee and his staff did a PHENOMINAL job!! Then, not even 2 hours later, I was having my daughter taken out of my arms, loosing blood to the floor beneath me, and telling my husband "I love him" for what I thought was the last time. I remember the doctor telling me that I was loosing a LOT of blood. I then asked, "am I going to die." He looked up at me, eyes gazing into mine with a look of stress and some fear. I kept going in and out and remember he going over the "options." I will never forget that day.
If it wasn’t for the donors who helped supply the 4 pints for my transfusion then, I wouldn’t be here today. Please, help me donate on Annistyn’s birthday as a big thank you!!!! Without volunteer blood donors, my story might have had a different ending. Help me reach my goal and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
I’m wanting to host a blood drive so we can get more donors!!!! If you know of a location then, please feel free to share!!!!!!
