The Vampire Swim is an annual campaign by the international open water swimming community to have some fun while promoting the important cause of donating blood in our communities. Held each year in late October, the Vampire Swim invites intrepid swimmers from around the world to take a dip or actually swim a distance in the chilling October waters. Drawing on the theme of Halloween, participants are invited to donate blood as their entry fee for the event. There are over 20 venues around the United States and internationally and folks are invited to start up their own event in their community.
