One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning recently.
Our beloved family member Rick Meland, age 45, had a life Cardia episode with severe complications which required the use of over 100 units of blood. That is a staggering number considering an open heart patient might only receive 1-3 units of blood. Without volunteer blood donors, Rick never would have received the blood he so desperately needed.
His extended family would like to help payback the American Red Cross by starting a Sleeves Up campaign in honor of Rick. Will you help us to reach our goal of 100 units of blood and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need?
Please make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross and use #WeLoveRick and reference this campaign, Units for Rick. Thanks to all who donate in his honor. You will make a difference!
