THANK YOU for scheduling an appointment to donate blood!

One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning recently.

Stephanie’s story:
I never thought I would be in need of regular blood transfusions. Who would? I was 28 and healthy. Then after a diagnosis of breast cancer and then later acute myeloid leukemia and finally a bone marrow transplant I found myself in need of biweekly blood transfusions to keep me alive. One complication from my transplant has been red cell anemia, where my body is killing my new red cells before they can be pushed into my blood stream. I’m so thankful for everyone who donates, I wish I would have donated before my transplant. I was O- and could have helped so many. Now I’ve enlisted my husband to make up for all I’ve used. He’s got a ways to go to donate 30+ units!

Without volunteer blood donors, our story might have had a different ending. Thanks for helping to ensure that patients like Stephanie receive the life saving blood they need!
