One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning recently.
Nearly 100 people donated blood in honor of a student who was diagnosed with Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia last March. The amount exceeded the goal set for a special Red Cross blood drive. The student has received more than 20 units of various blood products, according to his mother, who says more than 90% of the bone marrow was cancerous at the time of his diagnosis. The student has received support from many people in the community and on Facebook.
Without volunteer blood donors, our story might have had a different ending. Help me reach my goal and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross.
