On October 28th, I will run in my 3rd Marine Corps marathon to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood. To align with this endurance event, I have created this Red Cross virtual blood drive with the hope of encouraging 26 people to pledge to donate blood. I am dedicating one mile to each donor that pledges, and will write every name on a piece of paper to carry with me throughout the race.
For the past 11 years I have been competing in endurance events and supporting the American Red Cross. This is a special race to me because my grandfather, William Boyle, was also a Marine that fought in WW2. I’m racing in his honor and to also support the Red Cross Heroes Saving Lives program.
Each day, thousands of people through their individual acts of service provide compassionate care to those in need, here at home and around the world. These groups, representing a network of lifesaving heroes, are uniting together for the American Red Cross Heroes Saving Lives program.
Military and veteran groups have the chance to help hospital patients in need by hosting Heroes Saving Lives blood drives with the American Red Cross! You can also help honor the spirit of service through supporting blood donations in your community. Learn more at rdcrss.org/2oQoVZS
My campaign goal is to reach 26 blood donations. Please help me in supporting this campaign and pledge to donate blood. By giving just a little bit of your time, you can help give somebody in need the chance at a lifetime.
Hi everyone! I just wanted to take the time to share the good news that we were able to reach the goal of 26 pledges. I can’t thank you all enough for taking the time to pledge and schedule a blood donation, your support is truly appreciated and will go to help many patients in need. I will be writing all your names on my race bib to carry with my during my run this weekend at the Marine Corps marathon.
Thanks again for everything, teamwork always! 🙂
