In Loving Memory of Eduardo Manuel Coronado

One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That means a lot to patients in need, but it took on a new meaning for us when Eddie was shot 11 years ago.

From the time Eddie got to the ER, to when his heart stopped on the operating table for the third and last time, the doctors used 45 units of blood to try to save his life.  God had other plans and my Son is now in heaven.  Although they could not save my Son, I have peace of mind knowing that they had enough blood to do whatever they could.

My goal is to make sure no one ever has to hear, "We might have been able to save your loved one, but we didn’t have enough blood."  No one should ever have to hear those words!  They are devastating.  Families will forever have to wonder, "What if they had enough blood?  Would my loved one still be with us?"

Without volunteer blood donors, our story might have had a different ending. I would have been left with a "What if?" to add to my pain.  Instead, I was given peace of mind.  A peace of mind that has helped me heal.  Help me reach my goal and ensure that patients receive the life saving blood they need. Make and keep an appointment to give blood to the American Red Cross at redcrossblood.org, by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by downloading the Blood Donor App.

If you are eligible, please commit to donating blood today!  If time or eligibility do not permit, please ask someone you know to donate in your place.  Please encourage your family and friends to join us in donating blood and helping save lives.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

CURRENT NEED

Posted on: July 7, 2017

The American Red Cross has an emergency need for blood and platelets. A blood emergency means there may not be enough for those in need and patient care could be delayed. The Red Cross urges donors to give blood now to help combat this emergency and ensure patients get the treatment they need. Eligible blood and platelet donors of all types are needed now. Donors with types O, B negative or A negative blood are especially needed and encouraged to give a Power Red donation, if available. Schedule an appointment today at redcrossblood.org, by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by downloading the Blood Donor App. QUESTIONS? Lupe Coronado (626) 324 – 3968
