We work together every day to do important work. But today, we want to accomplish something even more meaningful. The Red Cross has to collect 15,000 blood donations every day to have enough blood to help patients in 2,700 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. That’s a lot of patients in need and all of us, coming together, can help ensure patients receive life saving blood.

This represents our second Bleed the Board Challenge. We’re hoping to increase participation and are trying this self-administered approach. This part of it is simply a pledge form. If you are unable to donate yourself, please try to find someone to donate on your behalf. They can indicate in the comments section that they’re donating in your stead.

To find a blood drive that’s convenient for you, go to http://www.redcross.org/give-blood, and enter a zipcode. From there, you’ll find drives that you can sign up for. In addition, periodically we’ll send a spreadsheet listing drives.
